_Every_ friday?

you poor poor thing!
I was originally reformed, which means people try to be sober, simple and quite ..eeh.. attached to their money. Resulting in us never eating fish

So i'm pretty happy i choose my own diet nowadays so i can have fish at least once a week

we also had one friday a month reserved for 'going
out to eat'... and we'd not visit a place unless
fish was served on the menu....

Naah, well.. the typical 'dutch' reformed religion usually implies that people are down-to-earth, should do their work, and not grump a lot about life, yet go on and find pleasure in the simpleness and not do anything frivolous.
Now seeing how fish was something my parents never got as children, they saw it as somewhat frivolous (not that they didn't like it, but it was sort of.. 'extra') and being extra it would be a shame to waste money on that if you can have perfectly good 'normal' food.
